Account Filtering

With the launch of X.5.1 for MRI Software, Account Filtering was one of many features to benefit from the update. The new Account Filtering feature described in this section is available in Commercial Management (CM), Budgeting and Forecasting (B&F), General Ledger (GL), JobCost, Purchase Order (PO), and Accounts Payable (AP), as well as to users working with GL Budgets.

Account Filtering in MRI Property Management

Users can now grant data entry access at a user level or restrict access at an entity level, limiting the accounts that appear in relevant tables for users with granted or limited permissions.

Note:

Restrictions granted at a user level are overridden by restrictions set up at an entity level. MRI Software recommends ensuring that all accounts planned for restriction are not already in use in setup screens throughout the database. Filtering accounts does not exclude the data from inclusion in journal creation or real-time journal entry processes.

Permissions are granted at a user level on the User Account Access page

Setup > System Setup > Setup and Maintenance > General Ledger > Accounts > User Role Account Access

Permissions are restricted at an entity level on the Entities page

Setup > System Setup > Setup and Maintenance > General Ledger > Entities > Entities

For more information about account filtering by user, refer to the “Filtering Accounts at a User Level” topic in the GL web Help

General Ledger (GL) > GL Setup and Maintenance > Filtering Accounts > Filtering Accounts at a User Level

For more information about account filtering by entity, refer to the “Filtering Accounts at an Entity Level” topic in the GL web Help

General Ledger (GL) > GL Setup and Maintenance > Filtering Accounts > Filtering Accounts at an Entity Level
